and ETA documentation for our Geoconnect connectors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Geoconnect MP and Geoconnect LL<\/strong> connectors for structural joints are two of our most characteristic, innovative products because of the role they play as devices to permit transferring shear stresses through structural joints between floor structures, slabs, beams or walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelfb.com\/fr\/goujons-pour-joints-de-structure\/geoconnect-ll\/\">Geoconnect\u00ae products<\/a> are <strong>the first structural connectors to be certified in Europe with the CE marking<\/strong>, issued by the Institute of Construction Technology of Catalonia (ITeC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img class=\"wp-block-heading\">Geoconnect connectors with DAU and ETA certification<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ITeC is the official body that issues <strong>Documents of Assessment for Fitness of Use (DAU) and European Technical Assessment (ETA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Document of Assessment for Fitness of Use<\/strong> is a statement containing a favourable opinion regarding the performance of an innovation in relation to the planned uses envisaged in building and civil engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, the <strong>ETA document<\/strong> contains a documented assessment of construction product performance in regard to special features, in accordance with the European Technical Assessment document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geoconnect connectors, both the MP and the LL, have both been awarded the aforementioned documents, more specifically:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Geoconnect MP: <a href=\"https:\/\/itec.es\/certificacion\/dau\/files\/15\/095\">DAU 15\/095<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geoconnect LL: <a href=\"https:\/\/itec.es\/certificacion\/dau\/files\/15\/096\">DAU 15\/096<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>European Technical Assessment: <a href=\"https:\/\/itec.es\/certification\/ete\/files\/16\/0064\">ETA 16\/0064<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What differences are there between Geoconnect MP: and Geoconnect LL?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a reminder about the uses of each model:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Geoconnect\u00ae MP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connectors to transmit shear stresses between:<br>beams, slabs or floor structures to walls, piles or concrete supports without any relative displacement between them.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img Construction Technology of Catalonia<\/strong> differentiates between them as follows: \u201cthe joint with the <strong>Geoconnect\u00ae MP<\/strong> connector comprises a fixed joint between the connected components (without relative displacement between them), whereas the<strong> Geoconnect\u00ae LL<\/strong> connector comprises an expansion joint preventing vertical movement and with relative displacement along the axis of the dowel (one direction), or according to the horizontal plane of the dowel (two directions)\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Geoconnect\u00ae connector for each use<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the above, ITeC adds that \u201cby design, the <strong>Geoconnect\u00ae MP<\/strong> connector, unlike the <strong>Geoconnect\u00ae LL<\/strong> connector, does not provide reinforcement or local reinforcement on the wall, pile or support side, and the fault mode of local crushing of the concrete on that side of the joint for the Geoconnect\u00ae MP connectors requires additional checks\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hence, \u201c<strong>the performance of the products and the methodology for determination thereof in the respective DAU\/ETA documents are therefore different and are not interchangeable<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More specifically:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For a fixed connection between a horizontal component and a vertical component<\/strong>: the <strong>Geoconnect\u00ae MP<\/strong> connector should be used, in line with the declared performances in DAU 15\/095.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For a connection between two components with a joint where movement takes place between them<\/strong>: the <strong>Geoconnect\u00ae LL<\/strong> connector should be
